The Expandable is designed for clients who want a tiny house that doesn't feel tiny. The unit ships at a standard 8-foot container width, making transportation simple and efficient. Once placed on your foundation, the patented expanding wall system opens the home to 14.5 feet wide—nearly doubling the interior living space—without the need for special tools or equipment. The first time you watch it expand on site, it's hard not to be impressed.
Inside: one private bedroom with a real door, a generous office space, a dining area, and a wide living room that holds both a sofa and a fold-away Murphy bed for guests. The kitchen runs along one wall. Couples who work from home tend to land here. So do retirees who want one main floor and no compromises on room size.
The expanding wall is what we get questions about most. It deploys without special equipment and seals weather-tight when open — if it gets wet in normal use, it stays dry inside. Thermal-break windows keep it comfortable through a Canadian winter.
