The 20-foot expandable is the format that gets through more municipal zoning rules than its big sibling. Lighter transport, smaller foundation requirements, easier to position on a tight lot. But it doesn't feel cramped — fold the side out on arrival and the interior jumps from 8 to 13 feet across, opening up around 260 square feet of real living space.
Inside: a wall-mounted Murphy bed (folds away during the day), an open kitchen-living space when the slide-out is deployed, and a real bathroom with a shower. It's a one-person home that works, or a two-person home that doesn't make you resent each other.
It drops onto screw piles or concrete pads — no poured slab — and the side deploys in under an hour without special tools. People often ask how it compares to the 20-foot standard: more space, more flexibility, more money. If you've got the budget and truck access for delivery, it's worth it.
